Privacy policy
How River of Life Fellowship handles the information you share with us through this website.
Last updated October 29, 2026.
River of Life Fellowship ("The River", "we", "us") is a church in Kent, Washington. This policy explains what we collect through theriver.church, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and your choices. Questions? Call (253) 859-0832, email info@theriver.church, or write to River of Life Fellowship, 10615 SE 216th St, Kent, WA 98031.
What we collect and why
- New Visitor Card: your name, email, phone, how you would like us to reach you and, if you choose, your age range, gender and how you heard about us. We use it to welcome you and follow up the way you asked.
- Tell us about your visit: your name and your feedback. We use it to make Sundays better.
- Technical details: like every website, our server records basic details of each visit (IP address, the page, your browser and the time) to keep the site secure and working. These records are kept for a few weeks.
Forms for River staff are handled under River's staff policies.
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to an email list unless you ask us to.
Advertising tools
This website uses two advertising tools from our old website: the Google tag for our Google Ads, which tells us when someone who clicked one of our ads later sends a visitor card, plans a visit or taps our phone number, and the Meta Pixel, which counts page views for our Facebook and Instagram ads. Both set cookies and tell Google or Meta which of our pages you visited, and Google may use your visit to show you River's ads later (remarketing). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, neither tool loads. You can also block them in your browser's cookie settings. The staff time-off form and the Wi-Fi page never load them.
If you sign in to manage the site, WordPress sets a sign-in cookie, and our security provider, Cloudflare, may set a short security cookie.
Who can see it
Your answers are read only by the River staff who handle that form and our site administrators. The companies that run the website for us (WorkflowUnity LLC, which builds and hosts it; Amazon Web Services, which stores it in the United States; and Cloudflare, which protects it) may handle it only to provide that service. We share information outside the church only when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
How we protect it and how long we keep it
Form answers are stored encrypted on our website's server, and only people we have allowed can open them. We keep them only as long as we need them for church ministry and our records, and we delete them sooner if you ask us to (see Your rights). Encrypted backups of the website are kept for up to 90 days.
Texts
If you ask us on the New Visitor Card to reach you by text, a River staff member may text you about your visit. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time. We do not send marketing texts.
Children
Our forms are for adults and teens. Teens 13 to 17 should have a parent's OK before filling one out. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to fill out any form for you. Kids Life registration happens on Church Center, under Planning Center's privacy policy.
Other websites
Two pages show content from other services, which then receive your IP address and browser details under their own privacy policies:
- Watch page: the recent message thumbnails load from YouTube (Google) when the page opens. The video itself plays on YouTube only if you choose one.
- Give page: when you press Give now, Planning Center's giving window (Church Center) loads on the page, or opens in a new tab on a phone, and Planning Center may set its own cookies. Your gift is handled by Planning Center, not by this website.
Some links go to other services with their own privacy policies, such as Church Center (giving, kids check-in, events and sign-ups), YouTube, Google Maps, Facebook and Instagram.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information you sent through this website. Call (253) 859-0832 or email info@theriver.church. We will confirm the request comes from you and answer within 30 days. If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
