SERVE Teams are individuals and teams of people at The River who give, share and minister to others through their gifts and abilities. These teams are meant to provide a solid volunteer base to the church, so that its ministries and purposes can be fulfilled!

Kids Team

Our Kids Team creates a fun and safe environment for children (nursery through elementary) that helps them learn and experience God’s love.

Time Commitment and Expectations
Serve 1-2 times per month (3 hours each)

Youth Team

The Youth Team leads middle school and high school students into a growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ through services, groups, outreach opportunities, and events.

Greeters Team

The Greeters Team influence is one of the first impressions people have about the church—and in some cases—about God. Greeters have an opportunity to make the largest impact with the simplest action, whether a warm greeting, a smile or a handshake.

Serve 1-2 times per month (3 hours each)

Ushers Team

The Ushers Team warmly welcomes people and assists them with any practical needs while ensuring a safe, caring, and distraction-free worship environment.

Barista Team

The Barista Team makes and serves beverages and food items at River’s Edge coffee stand. If you are a customer-oriented person and love coffee–this might be just right for you!

Bookstore Team

The Bookstore Team assists customers with sales and service at the River of Life Bookstore. If you enjoy helping customers and love books, consider joining the Bookstore Team!

Media Team

The Media Team uses their gifts in the audio, video, lighting, and technology systems for services each week. With a blend of creativity and technical excellence, this team provides the behind-the-scenes support to create an engaging and worshipful experience.

Time commitments and expectations:
Serve at least 2-4 times per month
Good with technology (We’ll train you on the equipment)
Middle school or older
Participation in occasional team meetings and trainings

Worship Team

The Worship Team uses their vocal and musical gift to create an environment in which people can experience the presence of God. The team helps the congregation connect with the heart of God in a meaningful way.

Time Commitment and Expectations
Audition Required (by appointment only)
Serve 1-2 Sundays a month (3 hours each)
Rehearsals weekly when scheduled (2 hours each)

Parking Team

The Parking Lot Team has the opportunity to make a positive first impression when people pull onto our campus. They provide assistance with parking, welcome guests, and keep the parking lot area safe.

Time Commitment and Expectations
Serve 1-2 times per month (1.5 hours each)
High School student or older

Security Team

The Security team member provides a sense of safety to our members, Pastoral staff, and guests. The Security Team is present for services and special events to ensure the safest possible environment for those in attendance by securing and monitoring the church building and grounds for possible security threats.  A member or guest that feels secure will be able to focus squarely on the reason they are at church—to build a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

Communion Team

Our Communion Team prepares the communion elements of wine (juice) and bread (crackers). By providing this service to our congregation, the Communion Team is equipping the body to remember Christ’s finished work on the cross.

Welcome Center Team

Our Welcome Center Team is our frontline information center for event registration, classes, and general church information. The Welcome Center also provides an opportunity to welcome new visitors.

Spiritual Mentorship Team

Our SPT Team (Spiritual Personal Trainer) is equipped to provide one-on-one mentoring to new believers, or mentoring to people who are looking for a deeper walk with Christ, re-commitments or renewals in their walk with God.

Prayer Team

Our Prayer Team meets weekly and prays before services, praying for the church corporately and for needs of individuals who submit prayer requests online or by way the prayer box located in the lobby.

Participation in pre-service prayer 1-2 times monthly.
